☑ QUALITY CHECK

3D-printed PLA items may have minor imperfections and/or print lines. We strive to send only the highest-quality prints, and if they aren't good enough, we don't send them. Many customers have found that these are often unnoticeable after painting.

💵 YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR

Sometimes, we do not print a product at the highest "quality" possible. This reduces our print times and allows us to offer our products at a great price. In our product images, we show every detail of our products. We want you to know what to expect.

If you would like a print to be of higher quality, please get in touch with us for a custom quote to see if we can accommodate your request. The cost will depend on the product and what you are asking. Examples: We can print almost any FDM miniature in high-quality resin - or we can possibly increase the profile on the print job, which would improve the quality (fewer print lines, etc.)

🧽 CLEAN YOUR PRINTS

Just like store-bought commercial miniatures, 3D Printed items may require some cleanup. Strings and fuzzies are standard because we ship prints directly from the printer to your home to keep our prices low.

  • You can snip off thicker strings with clippers or snippers (or they can often be flicked off with your finger!).
  • For thin fuzzies, you can use a lighter, being sure not to hold it over the plastic for more than a second!
  • Like mass-market TTRPG miniatures, you can use Green Stuff, Liquid Green Stuff, or Vallejo's Plastic Putty to fill in the gaps or seams.

🎨 COLOR POLICY

GriffonCo is constantly striving to provide the best quality and options available. For example, if an item is listed as "brown," you will get a brown color, but it may be lighter or darker than what is shown in the listing image. We try out different colors and brands all the time to help cut costs and improve quality.

*** We reserve the right to substitute both PLA FDM Print and Resin Print colors. In extreme cases, we may have to send something in a different color than what is shown in the product image.

🖌 PRIMING & PAINTING

Priming our products before painting is optional. Spray paint primer works great, but a simple base coat works well, also. Any quality acrylic paint works well with PLA and Resin Plastics.

⚙ MOVING PARTS

Some parts may appear to move. However, not all parts will move. Moving parts vary from each piece and will be noted in the description or shown in the pictures if any parts are movable. Some examples of parts that may or may not move are wheels, doors, etc.

📐 SCALE

Typically, our prints are at the original scale given to us by the designer. This is usually at a 28mm - 30mm scale. We try to list all sizes on our listings, but if you need a specific size, please reach out before ordering. Not all models can be resized. Please use the photos for scale reference. We use a standard 20-sided die in all of our pictures to show reference scale, along with the 1-inch grid that the models are featured on.

🌡 TEMPERATURE

PLA has a melting point starting at around 120 degrees F -- please do not allow your shipped items to sit in the hot sun for long periods. If you need special shipping arrangements, don't hesitate to get in touch with us directly. We are not responsible for any product damage caused by high heat. We've heard not to leave this stuff in your car, but we have not seen anything melt, so it's all your own risk!

Not suitable for long-term outdoor usage or applications where the printed part is exposed to temperatures higher than 50 °C (122 °F).

❌ NOT INCLUDED

All items that are used for scale are not included in any purchase. Items may consist of dice, minis, terrain, and tiles. Items do NOT come painted unless purchased as "painted." If you are unsure of what you are receiving for the purchase price, please get in touch with us prior to ordering.

🛒 NO PREFERENCE

Many of our customers don't care what color the print is because they intend to paint it. Therefore, when you select "No Preference" for the color or style on our listing, we will ship you whatever we have in stock and ready to go.

📸 WYSIWYG

Our items are represented and shown very well in our product photos. We strive to provide you with an idea of precisely what you will receive. If the item doesn't look like the picture (color/shade not included as they come in different shades), please let us know as soon as you receive your item.

🚚 SHIPPING POLICY

Our shipping times vary on our current order volumes. Most orders are shipped between one and three business days after they are placed, but we only ship twice a week. Some larger orders or a specific color of PLA may take extra time. We guarantee that all items will ship within 14 days of the order being placed. If we cannot meet that guarantee for any reason, we will contact you directly.

📮 MISSING SHIPMENTS

We are not responsible for lost or stolen packages. Please double-check the shipping address and ensure it's going to a secure location. It is the buyer's responsibility to contact USPS for missing parcels. (https://faq.usps.com/s/article/Where-is-my-package)

We need pictures of the product and packaging if you want a replacement. Contact us for more information.

The buyer is responsible for shipping if the item needs to be sent back.

🚚 RETURN SHIPPING

You'll have to pay for your own shipping costs if you want to send something back. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

The time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you will vary.

Items on clearance or "crit happens" bags will never be replaced or exchanged. You purchase these items knowing full well that they will have defects.

🎁 SPECIAL GIFTS

If you have a special request or a complicated thought, reach out to us.

🛒OFFERING STL FILES

Only some people can or will choose to dive into 3D printing. We offer the service of printing for those who don't want to or are unable to do so. We do NOT sell STL files. If you own a 3D printer or are a customer who recently purchased a 3D printer, you can find links to each designer where you can buy digital files of our non-exclusive models.

🖱 PARTNER MODELS NOT LISTED

If you see a model by one of our partners but we aren't listing it, contact us. We may be able to get it printed, priced, and listed just for you!

📥 CUSTOMER-SUPPLIED STLS

We can print it, maybe.

The best option is to email us and ask us about the file you do have. If we do not have the right to print the file commercially, we may try to obtain it if it is feasible. If you purchase an STL file, we will still require permission from the designer. If not, we are unable to print your STL file. We will only print models that hold up to our standards of quality. We have permission from HeroForge to print their files.

PLA and Resin

PLA and Resin

We currently use two different types of 3D printers: FDM and DLP. The difference is the level of detail, material, and printing process employed.

In a nutshell, the resin is of higher quality than PLA. It has finer detail, but it is fragile and must be handled with care. On the other hand, PLA prints are durable, cheap to produce, and can be done on a larger scale.

We use our Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) printer for our larger prints. This is the most common 3D printer, and it uses a thermoplastic filament that is heated and melted, then extruded (one layer at a time) to create a 3D-printed product. The material that we use most often is PLA (Polylactic Acid) filament. PLA is a biodegradable and bioactive thermoplastic aliphatic polyester from renewable resources such as corn starch. PLA comes in a wide variety of colors and styles. Note: While we can custom print with PETG, we will not print with ABS.

PLA is not suitable for high temperatures; even things like being left in a hot car can cause parts to soften or deform. PLA is best for cosplay and decorative applications. PLA is sturdy in adult hands but can easily be broken if dropped or if care is not taken. PLA is less durable than ABS (the material used to make Lego), but with care and consideration, it will last and work perfectly for tabletop gaming needs. PLA is not dishwasher safe. PLA is not a food-safe option.

We use our DLP printer for our fine-detail resin prints. A DLP (digital light processing) printer uses a liquid resin that uses photopolymerization when exposed to UV light, layer by layer, to form substantial layers that stack to create a 3D-printed object. We use our DLP printer to print small, fine-detail prints such as miniatures. However, cleaning and processing a DLP print takes longer, making it more expensive.

We currently use 3D Resin Solutions' photopolymer UV plastic resin, which is made in the United States and is relatively resistant to shock and impact. But putting UV miniatures that haven't been painted in the sun will speed up the curing process. The miniatures may become harder, more brittle, or change color.
