3D Terrain & Miniatures

All of our prints are printed original scale given to us by the designer, unless otherwise noted. This is typically done at a 25mm-32mm (typically 28mm) scale. Please use the photos for scale reference. Products are shown an 1x1 grid. We do offer scale adjustments on most models.

Not all of our prints are assembled. Some of our prints require an extra fee to assemble and some of them cannot be shipped in one piece. This will be noted on the product page.

Print lines are common among FDM 3D Printing. We do our best to show exactly what you will receive in our product photos. Many times you may see comments from people about our lines. We are able to increase the print quality on nearly ALL of our models if you are interested in a higher quality than what is shown. Most miniatures can be printed in Resin and most any FDM print can be upgraded for a higher cost.

Basically when a 3D Printer prints, it squeezes out plastic in strings at a high temp that melts the layers to each other. The smaller the "layer height" the longer and more filament that a print will take. We have found that our prints are somewhere in the middle -- and our reviews can tell you what people think!

If you believe your item has an excessive amount of print lines, please contact us for a replacement because Crit Happens!

The plastic that we use for our terrain and some miniatures is made from a PLA plastic for an FDM printer.

Things that may hurt PLA:

  • PLA is not safe in high temperatures. Being left in the car or in the sun can cause parts to soften or deform. If it's hot where you live, don't let it sit on your porch all day when you are at work.
  • PLA is not dishwasher safe and is only food safe for one use. The risk of bacteria is high. (don't let anyone tell you otherwise -- there is plastics that are, PLA is not)
  • PLA is not as strong as a lego -- don't step on it.
  • PLA is not appropriate for your 3 year old nephew who wants to play with you.
  • PLA is not edible -- it will probably hurt you as you hurt it.
  • PLA is not designed for table flips or to be thrown across the room - accidentally or on purpose.

Things that may hurt Resin:

  • Resin is cured by UV light -- sunlight can cause damage or color changes to unpainted resin.
  • Overexposure to direct sunlight can cause unpainted resin to become brittle.
  • Resin is more flexible than PLA, but it will break with force.
  • Resin is not dishwasher or food safe.
  • Resin is for sure not as strong as a lego -- don't step on it.
  • Resin is also not appropriate for your 3 year old nephew who wants to play with you.
  • Resin is not edible, just don't.
  • Resin is not designed for table flips or to be thrown across the room - accidentally or on purpose.

No. 3D Printed terrain and miniatures are not the same as mass produced miniatures. There will be minimal print lines on our FDM prints and our resin prints may have "rough spots". If you are particularly picky, 3D Prints may not be for you. We do our best to show you exactly what you will receive in the product images.

In a nutshell, Resin is higher quality and finer detail, but the process to clean up the resin and finalize a DLP print is extensive, which causes the detail an value to be higher. PLA prints are durable, cheap to produce and can be done at a larger scale.

We use our Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) printer for our larger prints. This is the most common 3D printer and it uses a thermoplastic filament that is heated and melted then extruded (one layer at a time) to create a 3D Printed product.

We use our Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) printers for our larger prints and many of our support free miniatures. This is the most common 3D printer and it uses a thermoplastic filament that is heated and melted then extruded (one layer at a time) to create a 3D Printed product.

A DLP (digital light processing) Printer uses liquid resin that uses photopolymerization that when it is exposed to uv light, layer by layer to form very solid layers that stack to create a 3D Printed object. We use our DLP printer to print small, fine detail prints such as miniatures. The process to clean and finalize a DLP print is extensive, which causes the detail an value to be higher.

Not all pieces light up, even though they look like they should. There are some cases in which the model has an element that lights up. This varies from each piece and will be noted in the description or are shown in the pictures. Tealights are included with items that require them.

Not all pieces move, even though they look like they should. There are some cases in which the model has movable parts. This varies from each piece and will be noted in the description or are shown in the pictures if any parts are movable.

Our ornaments are exclusive and the files are unavailable.

We do not. We can refer you to one of our designers (https://www.patreon.com/Valandar) or you can always use Hero Forge and contact us about a printing service.

We are currently trying to work on a few projects, one is creating more tile bundles. In the mean time, just let us know what you are looking for and Andy will try to come up with a plan for you.

We do not currently stock offer a lost of pre-painted options but plan to do so in the future. We currently have a fresh into college superstar trying to earn his way by painting and we do offer some of his prints on our website. If feasible - we can request for him to paint what you are interested in and list it in the store when it is completed. We also will do custom painting for $10 an hour on any of our products.

We sell the physical miniature. We do not sell the file or the stl for any of our products. You may find the information for the designer on our partner page where you can follow the link to their website.

About GriffonCo

We do not have a storefront and are not currently available in stores. We do local shows (Lehi, Utah) throughout the year and we will announce our pop up booths as they come up.

We use two different type of 3D Printers for our prints. We currently have both FDM and DLP Printers.

We use PLA (Polylactic Acid) filament. PLA is a degradable (but not biodegradable) and bioactive thermoplastic aliphatic polyester that comes from renewable resources such as corn starch. PLA comes in a wide variety of colors and styles. Note: While we can custom print with PETG, we do not print with ABS.

We currently use a resin produced in the United States. It is a little bit more firm and flexible than our previous resins. Warning: As with any miniatures, these are fragile and will break without care. Resin prints should not be confused with "army guys" like you would buy at the big box store.

There are so many options in the realms these days. You can shop anywhere you want, anytime you want and however you want. Just know that choosing us means you will have exceptional customer care, speedy turn around time and cool stuff in the box. When deciding who to pick, take into consideration that GriffonCo has:

  • Exceptional Reviews
  • High Quality Standards
  • Fast Turnaround
  • Huge Selection of 3D Printed Terrain & Miniatures
  • A Family Obligation to Provide Great Service

Cleaning & Prepping

For items that come in separate pieces (some items ship better not put together -- like the dragons, for example) we recommend a good gorilla gel glue or epoxy glue.

Some products may contain weird strings or "hairs" of thin plastic.

Let's be real, our products are super affordable and one way we are able to pass on the savings is by sending out prints before they are "cleaned". As we explain on our product pages - much like massed produced and cast minis, there may be minimal cleanup on your part.

By shipping our prints straight from the printer we are able to keep up with demand and allows us to print such a wide variety of prints.

Here is a few tips:

  1. Snip of strings with finger nail clippers or snippers... many times you can flick it off with your finger!
  2. Use a lighter to burn of "fuzzies" -- be careful not to hold the heat over the plastic for more than a second.
  3. Like mass market miniatures you can use Green Stuff, Liquid Green Stuff, or Vallejo's Plastic Putty to fill in the gaps or seams.
If you feel as though your print has excessive issues -- please chat with us and let us fix it!

Please note: Some print have a very rough look to it as shown in the product pictures.

Like mass market miniatures you can use Green Stuff, Liquid Green Stuff, or Vallejo's Plastic Putty to fill in the gaps or seams. If you feel as though your print has excessive issues -- please chat with us and let us fix it!

Painting is completely your choice! Many of our items are printed with the idea that you can just scatter them and go. You may always add a wash to make the details shine a little better, but many of our products are ready to go as is.

While you do not have to paint any of our models, though we highly recommend that you paint your resin models as they are sensitive to UV light and will continue to cure.

While it is suggested, it is not required and many of our customers are happy with their paint jobs without prime!  A cheap, quick and easy way to prime both FDM and Resin miniatures is using spray primer from your favorite big box store.

Any acrylic paint will work on our models. We use "craft" paints on our terrain and tiles, and save our expensive model paints for the finer detail work and smaller prints. We do recommend a nice finishing spray or sealer to protect your paint job.

Just like mass market products you may need to lightly file or sand a model in preparation for painting. Only some 3D printed items may require sanding imperfections prior to painting and most of our models do just fine without any prep! While we strive to only send out the very best quality, please realize this is 3D printed and perfection is not an option. All of our product pictures show the print lines and what you you are actually going to receive.

Custom Orders

Our pricing is based on print times and weight so contact us for custom sizes and we can get you a quote! We often sell prints for doll houses, board games, war games, 15mm and more. Exception: We will not list any products that are not up to our quality standards, with reduction in size quality may be compromised.

Custom Quote Request

We absolutely will do our best to accommodate any custom laser requests. Please submit a custom order request.

This varies as just changing a color will not change our processing times unless we do not have the color in stock. Models that we don't have listed, but have rights for will take a little bit of extra time to time, price, test and print the item. However, if we have to request for a custom design, this takes time as it depends on the designer.

May of our models such as our "FDM miniatures" like skeletons, clods and more can be printed in Resin instead of plastic. This will increase the quality and detail but does cost more. Please contact us for a custom quote.

Custom Quote

We offer many color choices and can print nearly all items in those colors. Simply get it touch with us (before ordering), and we will do our best to make it happen! Exceptions would be to resin prints, as those are not available in different colors at this time.

Custom Order Request

If you supply us a purchased STL file that you own the rights too we are most likely able to print it for you. Our 28mm resin miniatures start at $10.

Custom Quote Request

If you are looking for a large order of tiles or have a setup in mind, please contact us directly for a custom quote and we can hopefully save you some money!

Custom Order Request

We can custom paint any item listed in our store. Our custom paint jobs start at $10/hour and time for completion may vary.

Custom Quote Request

This completely depends on the commercial rights and requirements set forth by the designer who posted it. If it does not have the crossed out $, we are most likely able to print their item for you. If it does have the $ crossed out, please ask anyway as we are connected to many of the designers and will contact them directly to see if what we can do to work that out.

Custom Quote Request

We are able to print a large variety of STLs or "3D printable files". Your best bet is to reach out to us and ask for a custom quote.

Custom Order Request Form

We are unable to print our miniatures in clear.

We do not design our own files - we simply provide the printing service of terrain and miniatures for those who do not have a 3D Printer. While we do not design our files, we are sometimes able to get a custom miniature created. We often make suggestions to our designers and they try to work our requests into their next project. Some designers can work with you and provide you a custom design. We do not facilitate this process but we will connect you and create a custom order to print the model.

While we do offer painted versions from time to time, we can also custom paint any order you make. Our painting rate is about $10 an hour, with a 2 hour minimum. A full detailed resin miniature takes around 4 hours to paint. If you would like a custom quote please fill out this form: https://www.griffonco.com/pages/quote-request

Most likely, YES! Together our partners have thousands of items in all, we obviously can't list everything! If you see something on a website of one of our partners but we aren't listing it, just contact us and we can get it printed, priced and listed just for you! The only exception to this is when designers have exclusive rights on specific models.

Unfortunately, our existing 3D products are not designed by us and we are unable to do certain things that we often get requests for such as adding a door or feature to an item that is not a part of the original design.

For Laser Items, we are able to change the design and customize most anything.

We do not design our own files and most products cannot be "altered" but we have a handful of them that we can either make a minimal change ourselves or make a special request to a designer. We cannot make major changes to any model. We can pass your suggestion on to a designer and even put you in touch for them to make you a custom file. Many of our designers do community requests so please let us know if you have an idea.

Order Issues

We have found that that delivery scan is not always accurate and usually corrects itself within 24 hours. If it has been longer than 24 hours, please let us know.

Crit Happens! Let us know and once we've received a photo of the broken item we will get a replacement sent as soon as possible!

Crit! Please double check the packaging - 9 times out of 10 the small pieces get missed wrapped up in the bubble wrap or paper. If you have double checked and did not find your item let us know!

Crit happens! We won't lie pieces have been known to jump from one box to the next without our knowledge. We will surely help you with this.

While we do our best, our PLA and resin comes in many different shades. When we sell an item listed as "brown" you will get a brown color, but it may be lighter or darker than what is shown in the listing image. On RARE occasions, you may get a completely different color if we are unable to fill your order otherwise.

Some of our products may require assembly. If you need instructions, please contact us and we can send you pictures. We recommend Gorilla Gel glue, or epoxy glue.

Partners & Designers

We carry the license to print any model listed on our website that requires a commercial printing license.

Yes! Well, maybe. We take our designers very seriously and only partner with designers who provide quality prints that meet our expectations. We require .stl files to be clean and all prints must be up to the standards that we use while selecting models to offer. We strive to provide a specific price point, and your prints will need to be able fall into that line.

Yes! Mostly. Not all designers have required us to pay for their files but many of them work on commission from each sale, a monthly fee or other arrangements to assure they are credited and paid for their time and energy to create amazing models. Each partnership is different based on the needs of the designer.

Yes, or maybe. Most likely we are able to print any stl file but you will need to contact us for confirmation. Note: some files may be corrupt or unprintable or not up to our standards.

Most likely, YES! Together our partners have thousands of items in all, we obviously can't list everything! If you see something on a website of one of our partners but we aren't listing it, just contact us and we can get it printed, priced and listed just for you! The only exception to this is when designers have exclusive rights on specific models.

Custom Order Request

We've had several inquiries about why we are selling models that can be found for free on Thingiverse. We only sell items in which we have the rights to sell. We work directly with our designers and compensate them for their files, often with commission on sales. Not all printing companies own the rights but rest assure we take this very seriously and maintain relationships with our designers.

Some of our files are custom and exclusive and are not available through a designer or partner.

After a certain amount of time your cache or browser will reset and/or our system will reset the shopping carts. We highly recommend you create an account and it should remain in your cart.

We are unable to ship overseas at this time. Please reach out to our good friend Haylandgames@gmail.com in the UK as he may be able to accommodate you!

The processing time will vary and all orders are shipped USPS. Typical arrival from ship date is 1-5 days with an average of 3 days for our orders. Once an order has shipped you will receive a tracking number. You may also access this from your Account Page.

Our typical processing time is 3-5 business days but during high demands our processing time can vary up to two weeks.

Some things that affect processing times:

3D Terrain & Miniatures

  • Models that need to be printed are added to a que and are printed in the order in which we receive them.
  • Larger orders may take longer to process based on printer availability, color requirements and print times.
  • Some models take longer to print than others.
  • Orders are ship based on the items ordered and availability. Many items we try to keep in stock.
  • Many models are printed in multiple quantities at a time, so often multiple orders are filled as we go down the que.
  • We have a life and a family. There may be certain situations that may cause our processing times to be longer than normal.
  • During sales our print que fills very quickly an our processing times are typically longer.
  • Specific color prints may extend print times due to printer availability and filament or resin availability.
  • Printer malfunction can cause extended processing times.
  • Custom orders may have extended processing and print times.

Laser engraved products

  • We try to carry all laser blanks in stock but Crit Happens!
  • Mistakes and errors on our part may extend processing times as we will correct the issue.
  • Custom orders may have extended processing times.
  • We have a life and a family. There may be certain situations that may cause our processing times to be longer than normal.
  • Laser Malfunction.
